Logic Pro X Techno Mastering Template

For episode 83 we are mastering a techno song in Logic Pro X Using Waves plugins. The master is a song we previously composed, arranged and mixed in previous episodes. The song will be released and it is called Mikas - The Cells.

We begin by setting up the first part of our gain staging using Renaissance EQ auto gain function. We use a busy part of the song to capture all the peaks while we set up the mastering chain. We then use a VEQ4 to add some smoothness and minimal low end adjustment, we also use the phase function of this plugin. We also use logic's own linear equ to clean the top end and add some shine to the song.

Next step we process the audio with the LIN MB plugin with a smooth open electro mastering setting with some custom settings to keep the punch of the low end. We then add a center to widen the sound and add the illusion of more loudness. Continuing we are using a Kramer Tape plugin to add some distortion and caracter to the whole song.

Then we are adding the SSL Compressor and a second instance of the LIN MB multiband processor, this time with a tight opto mastering to further enhance the song and stabilize the frequencies. We finish this session using the L316 multiband limiter.
